Take a look in the right column, under the category navigation, for all the different types of party planning, including party planning ideas, tips and information for the individual types of parties.
Type Of Party
The planning phase will depend largely on the kind of party the host is throwing. Depending on whether it is a surprise party, holiday party, birthday or graduation party, the menu, decorations and preparations will vary.
The demographics and age group of the guests attending will play a major role in the kind of food served during the party. The same goes for the number of guests expected.
For larger gatherings, if budget is a consideration, a standardized menu is the best option while for smaller intimate gatherings, unique and special menu items maybe served.
Party Activities Or Not
If the party is going to have more kids attending, there should be plenty of activities available to keep the children occupied.
In the case of adults attending, the focus would be on the guests mingling with each other and not so much on the activities, although sometimes that can be fun too. It all depends on the kind of people attending the party.
Party Invitations
There are several kinds of invitations and a host can choose to send out invites in the form of cards, handouts, through word of mouth, emails or online invitations. The method of invitation chosen will depend on the convenience of the host and the rapport shared with the guests.
Online invitations are very popular these days. There are designated websites, which help you design and send the invite to the selected guests.
Many of these websites provide notifications of all those who have RSVP'd as well as those expected to come. In this manner, estimating the number of guests dropping over is easy.
The Party Venue
The place of the party will be a crucial factor in the planning process. If the party is meant to be outdoors, provisions will have to be made for shelter in the case of bad weather and shade for hot weather.
If the party will be in the host's home or a specific rented venue, the number of rooms needed for the party will need to be decided. Choosing rented venues is a good idea because it saves the host time spent on cleaning. It also avoids the hassle of having to clean up once the party is over.
Party Food
The most important part of any party planning process is determining how much food is necessary. Depending on whether it will be a buffet or whether dishes will be served, the dishes will be prepared by the host or catered will affect a large portion of the planning process.
Food requirements and planning will take up the maximum portion of the host's time and depending on budget, age group and venue, the menu should be decided wisely.
Cleaning Requirements
If the party is going to be hosted in the person's house, plenty of time will need to be devoted towards cleaning as well as preparing the house in advance.
It is best to start a few weeks beforehand to avoid last minute hassles.
