Planning Your Parties Theme
Themed parties are ever so popular amongst people these days. With themes, a host can create the perfect surroundings and settings to please guests of all tastes.
What Kind of Theme?
With so many popular party themes available, it can be confusing as to which party theme would work best for your party. This is why thinking ahead can save plenty of the hassle.
Depending on the age group, their demographics and preferences, the theme of the party will need to be arranged. Thus, if the party is to comprise of mainly kids, the themes could be about Barbie, pirates, fancy dress competition etc. along with an emphasis on many activities to keep the children entertained.
If the party is to have senior and elderly people, a decade based theme would work well. For example, party themes focusing on their favourite decade like the 50s or 60s would work well.
For a party comprising young adults, a chic ambience, nice music, DJ, plenty of finger food and of course drinks should be the focus. In such a situation, there is no need to have a particular theme as such, unless it is a hen or stag party. The focus should be on eating, chatting and drinking.
Possible party themes that should be looked into are:
Decade Themes
The decade themes are one of the most popular themes, especially amongst adults. Some common decade themes include those of the 60s and 70s. With both of these themes, plenty of colour, bold clothes, disco lights big jewellery accents etc. are some of the main highlights.
Barbie Themes
These sort of themes are popular amongst parties thrown for young girls. In such parties, immense creativity is needed so that the little girls can be dressed up as Barbie and her friends like Tinkerbell etc.
The surroundings, wall panels, chairs and other furniture should be reflective of the pink, blue, fluorescent colours typical of Barbie.
Hawaiian Themes
Hosts can make do with a nice Hawaiian theme replete with hula-hoops, flowers as necklaces, skirts made of leaves and colourful jazzy printed shirts for the boys.
The perfect surroundings would be to have a beach umbrella, a pile of sand in a corner where maybe the kids can make sandcastles (and perhaps have a prize for the best sandcastle later on), wallpapers with the beach theme and plenty of finger foods reminiscent of a tropical climate, coconut drinks etc.
Bridal Shower Themes
In situations where a near friend is getting married, a bridal shower themed party would work best. Lots of creativity is needed for such parties along with an immense knowledge of the bride to be.
Hence, care should be taken to ensure that the party is intimate, fun and helps the friends bond with each other better.
Common themes for bridal shower parties include that of nature lover, where the emphasis is on using things as close to nature as possible, spa themes, where the party is all about pampering and nice music playing in the background, bling themes, where the focus is on funky jewellery.
